The Red Cape (tltle frame)
The title frame from 'The Red Cape', a documentary photographed in Spain in 2002 recording the movement, color, spectacle, sound, and details of the Corrida . Depicted from early Roman artists to Goya and Picasso and Hemingway, the popularity of this last vestige of a three thousand year-old 'blood sport' is difficult to comprehend in a nonagrarian society. But the classic question still remains-is the true "beast" the four legged one in the sand - or the collective two legged ones roaring in the stands? The 'Corrida' is seen without voice-over commentary'. The Red Cape' (14 min.) concept, videography and editing by David Mac Innes is available on DVD.
